ROUGE
ROUGE, which stands for Recall-Oriented Understudy for Gisting Evaluation, is a set of metrics for evaluating automatic summarization and machine translation in natural language processing. It compares the content of an automatically produced summary or translation against a set of reference summaries or translations.
How ROUGE is Used
ROUGE measures include ROUGE-N (overlap of N-grams between the text and reference), ROUGE-L (longest common subsequence), and others. These metrics provide a quantitative way to assess the quality of machine-generated text against human-created text.
